High Protein Diets Driving Sales for Food Producer Cranswick
Cranswick reported a 5.5% rise in revenue and an 8.2% increase in product volumes for the 13 weeks to June 27, driven by demand for protein-rich pork and chicken products. Fresh poultry sales benefited from a 25% capacity expansion at the Eye facility and new premium retail customers, while domestic pork sales grew despite weaker exports to China and other global markets. The company also expanded its convenience, gourmet, houmous, dips and pet-food businesses, entered a joint venture with The Jolly Hog, and strengthened its relationship with Pets at Home.
