Liam Redmond senior and his sons, Liam Redmond junior and Luke Redmond, admitted affray after a violent fight at a wake at Prenton Golf Club in October 2024. William Donaldson suffered a severe split nose requiring nine stitches, permanent scarring and glass fragments in his eye, while other attendees, including the golf club manager, were also injured. Redmond senior had 16 previous convictions and a similar affray conviction linked to another wake, but all three defendants had not reoffended and expressed remorse. He received a nine-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months, while his sons received 12-month community orders. Each was also ordered to pay Donaldson £250 in compensation.
