Maharashtra suspended the licenses of four Domino’s outlets and one Pizza Hut outlet after inspections found pest-control failures, products without expiry dates and other hygiene violations. The action formed part of a wider crackdown led by food-safety chief Tukaram Mundhe, whose department inspected more than 100 outlets in one day and issued 95 improvement notices. The enforcement comes amid broader national action over food labeling and hygiene, despite the international chains’ reputations for stricter safety standards in India.
