AFG Law on What to Do When a Will Causes a Family Dispute
Probate and inheritance disputes may arise over a will’s validity, a beneficiary being excluded, executor conduct, estate administration, property, trusts or promises made by the deceased. A will can be challenged where there are concerns about mental capacity, undue influence, or proper signing and witnessing, while eligible relatives and dependants may claim financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Evidence and strict time limits can be important. Negotiation and mediation may resolve disputes without court proceedings, and AFG Law offers advice through its dispute-resolution team.
