Check FAQAbout Afia
Afia Agyapomaa Ofosu is a Ghanaian science journalist, communication consultant, and climate action activist whose work sits at the intersection of storytelling, sustainability, public health, and environmental justice. With over a decade of experience across print, television, radio, and digital media, she has built a reputation for transforming complex scientific and climate issues into deeply human stories that inform, engage, and inspire action. Her journalism journey began in 2010 at Asempa FM before she moved to TV Africa as a news reporter in 2011. Since then, Afia has reported extensively on climate change, renewable energy, biodiversity, public health, agriculture, marine ecosystems, and the lived realities of vulnerable communities across Ghana and Africa. Her storytelling often centers on people at the frontlines of environmental change, particularly women, indigenous communities, farmers, and coastal populations. Afia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications from the African University College of Communications and a Master’s degree in Media and Digital Communication Management from the University of Professional Studies, Accra. She also earned professional diplomas from the Institute of Commercial Management in the United Kingdom. Beyond journalism, Afia is the founder of Climazyn, a platform dedicated to climate storytelling, environmental advocacy, and sustainability communication. Through her work, she amplifies African perspectives on climate justice and sustainable development while promoting solutions-driven conversations around resilience and green innovation. Her dedication to impactful storytelling has earned her several recognitions, including the Science Journalism Forum award and the Resilience in Focus Photo Story Contest — Urban Resilience Category — organized by the Green Africa Youth Organization and the Global Resilience Partnership.
