John James O’Rourke, 88, of Drumguiff, Lisnaskea, admitted threatening to kill a shop assistant and stealing £10.75 worth of groceries from Costcutter in Lisnaskea. The court heard he repeatedly abused and threatened staff, despite being barred from the premises, and that the incidents were supported by CCTV and phone footage. Judge Barney McElholm described the behaviour as disgraceful and said a custodial sentence was seriously considered, but O’Rourke’s age prevented immediate imprisonment. He received two concurrent six-month sentences suspended for two years and a two-year restraining order, with a warning that breaching it would result in immediate imprisonment.

Helen Mulligan, 52, of Fivemiletown, faces allegations including assaulting a man with a fork, domestic abuse, possession of an offensive weapon, and another assault. Her case was adjourned at Enniskillen Magistrates Court until September 7, with conditions prohibiting contact with witnesses and requiring her to stay out of Drumbawn, Enniskillen.

Three men—John Joyce, Alan Joyce and Bernard Joyce—had proceedings adjourned for a further week at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court over alleged offences dating to November 16, 2019. The charges include serious assaults, aggravated burglary, attempted grievous bodily harm and possession of machetes with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. No pleas were entered, and the cases were adjourned until August 17.

Michael John Allen, 49, of Forthill Park, pleaded guilty at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court to failing to comply with sex-offender notification requirements and multiple motoring offences, including driving while unfit, refusing specimens, obstructing and resisting police, and driving without insurance or a licence. Police said he had failed to notify them after moving from an address in Irvinestown and was later found apparently intoxicated in a running, uninsured Audi in Enniskillen. Allen said he could not remember the incident after drinking following news that he had cancer, and his barrister cited his remorse and lack of previous local trouble. Judge Alana McSorley imposed a 12-month driving ban and fines totalling £750.

Martin McCarney, 46, of Foxhill Road, Enniskillen, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court on charges of murdering Ellie Flanagan on March 7 and possessing three knives with intent to commit murder. Prosecutors said inquiries were continuing and that forensic results and a Coroner’s report were still awaited. The case was adjourned until August 24 for further updates.

A 53-year-old Newtownbutler man, Mel West, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates' Court facing charges alleging indecent and sexually motivated conduct in view of children, including five children under 13. Prosecutors said a full file would be available in October, and Judge Alana McSorley adjourned the case until August 24.

Brian Stokes, 22, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates' Court facing charges of causing the death of Aimee Stokes and grievous bodily injuries to Damien Stokes and Bernard Reilly through dangerous driving in Derrylin on December 23, 2024. He is to be released on bail, and the case was adjourned until September 14 to set a date for a preliminary enquiry.

Alan Lavery, 41, of Rockfield Park in Belleek, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates' Court accused of criminal damage to residential windows and guttering, attempted damage to a door and a Police Service of Northern Ireland vehicle, and resisting a police constable. The alleged incidents occurred in Belleek on July 11. The case was adjourned until August 10 before Judge Alana McSorley.

A Rosslea man, Stephen Flanagan, faces multiple charges including grievous bodily harm, non-fatal strangulation, domestic abuse, and possession of a pitchfork as an offensive weapon. His case at Enniskillen Magistrate's Court was adjourned for a preliminary enquiry after he failed to appear, with Judge Alana McSorley seeking an explanation for his absence.
