Police later recovered the knife used in the offences after raiding two properties.

Moment teen thug launches brick through police van window seriously injuring cop
A teenager who threw a brick through a police van window during a Bonfire Night riot in Edinburgh, leaving PC Joanne Hiroz with permanent scarring, avoided a prison sentence after admitting culpable and reckless conduct. Sheriff Julius Komorowski deferred sentencing for Kieran Sutherland, indicating possible unpaid work and compensation. Co‑accused Sean McGovern and Nathan Anderson also pled guilty to violent offences involving fireworks and attacks on police, each receiving unpaid work orders and, in McGovern’s case, a curfew. CCTV footage and police investigation led to their identification and arrest.
