Man found guilty of murder after previously killing sister in shooting accident
A Dublin jury found Derek Boyd guilty of murdering Mark Carroll during a late-night altercation at Boyd’s home while he was serving a suspended sentence for the manslaughter of his sister. Carroll died from stab wounds, and jurors could not reach verdicts on charges involving the alleged assault of Carroll’s girlfriend or Boyd’s partner’s alleged attempt to impede prosecution. Boyd will receive a mandatory life sentence next week.
