The UK will experience a major partial solar eclipse on Wednesday, with up to around 90% of the Sun covered in some areas and no similarly impressive UK view expected until 2081. Space journalist Daisy Dobrijevic advises observers to watch for crescent-shaped shadows beneath trees, unusually sharp shadows, altered daylight and a possible temperature drop. The UK Health Security Agency warns that ordinary sunglasses are unsafe and recommends certified eclipse glasses meeting ISO 12312-2:2015(E).
