Neon has released a trailer for Cristian Mungiu’s legal drama Fjord, which won the Palme d’Or at Cannes. The film follows a devout Romanian father, his Norwegian wife and their five children after they relocate to a remote coastal town, where allegations of abuse involving a neighboring family bring them into conflict with the local judicial system and expose tensions between concern, prejudice and rigid religious beliefs. Starring Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, Fjord is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 9.

LEGO has unveiled the 6,130-piece Ultimate Collector Series Executor Super Star Destroyer from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Measuring 53.5 inches long, the adult-oriented display model recreates Darth Vader’s flagship and includes a bridge scene, a scale Star Destroyer and seven minifigures: Darth Vader and the six bounty hunters Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, IG-88, 4-LOM and Zuckuss. The set is available for pre-order at $799.99/£614.99 ahead of its October 1 release and includes digital building instructions through the LEGO Builder app.

Casper Kelly's horror film transforms the brightly colored world of a children's educational television show into a violent nightmare in which the mascot Buddy hunts children who resist his enforced happiness. The review praises the film's inventive premise, immersive period-TV structure, unsettling tonal shift, production design and Keegan-Michael Key's vocal performance. It criticizes the sections outside the fantasyland for dragging, describes the world-building as incomplete, and finds the family-drama storyline underdeveloped, while concluding that the film is an unconventional and suspenseful creature feature.

Apple TV has released the first trailer for 12 12 12, a heist drama starring Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan. The series follows a disgraced FBI agent and an American career criminal in a cat-and-mouse conflict across Europe, structured around the 12 months of planning, 12 hours of the heist, and 12 days afterward. The central robbery targets a bank vault beneath Zurich, with the series scheduled to premiere on Apple TV on November 13.

Netflix has released a trailer for season two of the animated Stranger Things spinoff Tales from '85. Set immediately after season one, the new season follows the Hawkins gang as ghostly apparitions, strange creatures and hate sprites disrupt the town around Valentine's Day. The HIC investigates the paranormal events before a new gate to the Upside Down can open. The returning voice cast includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Luca Diaz, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Elisha “EJ” Williams and other cast members. The season premieres on Netflix on September 17.

Death Among the Pines is a thriller directed by Nathan Shepka and written by Tom Jolliffe. The film follows Angela, who shelters a stranded stranger during a storm shortly before a police officer arrives searching for an escaped criminal. It is receiving a coordinated digital rollout across more than 40 countries, including an international release through Bloodstream TV, North American TVOD availability on Prime Video, and an AVOD launch on Tubi. High Fliers Films is scheduled to release it in the United Kingdom on September 7, 2026.
