People with EpiPens warned to be extra careful in the summer
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency warns that EpiPens and other medicines may be damaged by temperatures above 25°C, potentially reducing their effectiveness. People are advised not to leave EpiPens in parked cars, warm bags or direct sunlight, and to use a cool bag when necessary. Medicines that change colour, smell, texture or appearance may have been affected by heat, while some treatments can also increase the risk of sunburn, dehydration or dizziness.
