Yorkshire's Best Seaside Town Is Named With Unspoilt Promenade and Classic Attractions
Filey has been named Yorkshire’s best seaside town in a Which? survey of more than 5,300 respondents, receiving an overall score of 75% and ranking among the UK's top 30 coastal destinations. It scored particularly well for its beach, seafront, scenery and affordability, while its quieter atmosphere, golden sandy coastline, Edwardian character, promenade cafés and family attractions were highlighted as key strengths compared with nearby Scarborough and Whitby.

Whitby in North Yorkshire has been named by Lonely Planet as one of the best places to visit in England. The town is praised for its sandy beach, harbour, historic lanes, fossil-hunting sites and Whitby Abbey, whose ruins are associated with Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Its reputation for fish and chips, including venues such as Magpie Café, Trenchers and Royal Fisheries, is also highlighted.
