Mum who was told cancer treatment left her infertile welcomes 'miracle' second baby
Shannon Maya Lamb, a 31-year-old Dundee mother, was diagnosed with aggressive germ cell ovarian cancer while pregnant with her first child, Hunter. After surgery, an emergency caesarean, intensive chemotherapy and two stem cell transplants, she was told the treatment had left her infertile and menopausal. Despite that prognosis, she conceived naturally in 2025 and gave birth by caesarean to her daughter Zayla on July 22. Following complications affecting both mother and baby, the family is now home, while Shannon remains under monitoring and in remission.
