Bradford on Avon man sexually assaulted and strangled victim
Braham Aissaoui, 52, of Bradford on Avon, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court to three years and nine months in prison after pleading guilty to intentional strangulation, assault by beating and sexual assault against a woman in her home. The offences occurred between March 26 and 30, and he was also given a seven-year restraining order. Wiltshire Police highlighted the victim’s bravery and said tackling violence against women and girls remains a priority.

Westbury car dealer fined over faulty and misdescribed cars
Motor trader Benjamin John Meacham pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates' Court to three offences after selling a faulty Ford KA and a Fiat 500L that had previously been classified as a Category S insurance write-off. Following complaints from two customers and an investigation by Wiltshire Council Trading Standards, he was fined £1,400 and ordered to pay £980 in prosecution costs, £1,060 compensation and a £560 victim surcharge. The case was cited as a reminder that vehicle traders must provide accurate information and respect consumers' rights.
