Santander contacts almost 150,000 customers struggling with energy bills
Santander UK has contacted nearly 150,000 vulnerable customers expected to spend over 10 percent of their income on energy bills following a recent price cap rise, offering guidance and financial support through dedicated care teams. Rising energy costs are linked to instability in the Middle East, while Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced a VAT cut on electricity bills intended to ease pressure on households. Despite the tax reduction, the energy price cap is projected to increase again in October, adding further financial strain as colder months approach.
