Teacher 'kissed pupil, locked her in a cupboard and supplied her with drugs'
A teaching tribunal found that former Aston Academy physics teacher Lee Nicholson engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a pupil between 2014 and 2018, including kissing her, sending sexually explicit messages, isolating her in rooms at school, encouraging drug use and giving her gifts. Nicholson was arrested in 2023 and later convicted and fined for possessing several drugs. The tribunal concluded that his conduct fundamentally breached professional boundaries and safeguarding duties, and he was banned from teaching indefinitely.
