Now That's What I Call Symphonic Music! BSO, Meyrick Park
The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Proms in the Park at Meyrick Park attracted around 2,000 people for an enthusiastic outdoor concert combining classical repertoire, film music, fireworks and picnicking. The programme included works by John Williams, Stravinsky, Hans Zimmer, Strauss, Mussorgsky, Vaughan Williams, Rachmaninov and Delibes. Chief Executive Dougie Scarfe praised live musicianship as something artificial intelligence cannot replace, while conductor Enyi Okpara was publicly thanked as his two-year assistant-conductor tenure ended.
