Meet SPAR's Everyday Champions Who Make a Huge Difference to Their Communities
SPAR and AF Blakemore & Son have named five Everyday Champions for their contributions to communities across the Midlands, East of England and Wales. David Hobbs, Adam Dent, Sandra Walker, Nicola Allen and Laura Barton were recognised at the 2026 Birmingham European Athletics Championships, with support from Colin Jackson. Their work includes coaching young people, volunteering for charities, helping vulnerable families, fundraising, improving accessibility and supporting environmental and social initiatives. The campaign highlights research indicating that 64% of Britons helped someone in their community during the past year and reinforces SPAR’s commitment to grassroots sport and local community connections.
