Huge British brand coming to end after 173 years
Halifax will be phased out as a standalone brand in 2027, with all customer accounts rebranded to Lloyds as part of Lloyds Banking Group’s effort to simplify its portfolio. Customers will retain account details and existing services, and no job cuts are planned. Branches will be rebranded or merged, and Lloyds will maintain its presence in Halifax and the wider Yorkshire and Humber region, where around 3,000 staff are based.
