Dad's lips 'turn blue' as he chokes on meat at UK pub carvery before dying in front of son
Eighty-five-year-old Keith Foster died after choking on meat while dining with his son at The Newbridge carvery in Wolverhampton. Staff and emergency responders attempted to clear his airway and resuscitate him, while an air ambulance crew removed food with forceps. An inquest heard that Foster died from asphyxia caused by choking, with old age and ischemic heart disease contributing. Coroner Joanne Lees recorded an accidental-death verdict, describing the incident as an unintended consequence of an ordinary activity.
