Anne Sofie Schrøder

Anne Sofie Hoffmann Schrøder is a feature journalist and documentarist working freelance for a broad range of outlets such as Danish Broadcasting Corporation, Politiken, Information, Berlingske, Weekendavisen and Dagsavisen, the German public broadcaster ARD, the Brazilian television network Rede Globo and the Brazilian slumpaper “Agência de Noticias das Favelas” - the world's first slum reporting news agency.
Anne Sofie is fluent in Portuguese, German, Danish and English and has reported from Russia, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Israel, Palestine and Brazil and her work has focused on the refugee and migrant crisis in Europe, minorities, the rise of the global far right, fake news and freedom of speech and her work airs in Denmark, Germany, Norway and Brazil. 
Since 2011 she has continuously reported on the social injustice, the corruption scandals and the political and financial crisis in Brazil. She has lived among drug lords and kids on crack in some of the most violent and socially deprived favelas in Rio de Janeiro and written several feature series during the World Cup and the Olympics describing life at the bottom of Brazilian society. In 2015 Anne Sofie was competitively selected as fellow of the German International Journalists’ Program, IJP, during which she reported for Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich, Germany.
