Man avoids jail after stealing equipment from work to sell at Cash Converters
Dungannon man with 99 previous convictions refused bail after new burglary charge
Belfast Crown Court refused bail to 27-year-old Padraig Anthony James Brolly, who denies burgling a South Belfast home and stealing a television and other items. Prosecutors cited his 99 previous convictions, seven bench warrants, 27 prior bail breaches and concerns that he would reoffend or fail to attend his November trial. They also referred to two further incidents under police investigation. The defence sought another opportunity for Brolly, highlighting his cooperation with police and engagement with addiction services, but Judge Philip Gilpin concluded that the risks were too great.
