Norwegian teenager Johannes Kongsnes Natland was convicted at the Old Bailey of conspiring to murder someone in the UK after travelling to Manchester on instructions from an online contact using the name “Agent 47.” Police said he collected two guns, 19 rounds of ammunition and cash supplied by the Iran-linked Foxtrot Network, but was arrested at a Huddersfield hotel two days after arriving. Natland claimed he never intended to carry out the assassination, but the jury rejected his account. He had already pleaded guilty to firearms and ammunition offenses and is due to be sentenced in October.
