Teesside chef promoted to executive chef at Michelin-starred restaurants
Scott John-Hodgson has been promoted from head chef at Newcastle’s Solstice to executive chef overseeing both Solstice and Michelin-starred House of Tides. The move follows his 2026 Craft Guild of Chefs Restaurant Chef award and recognizes his progression within Kenny Atkinson’s team since 2018. John-Hodgson, a Thornaby native and former sport student, will lead the restaurants’ culinary direction while continuing to mentor staff and support Newcastle College students. Atkinson will remain involved in the kitchens but plans to devote more time to business development and brand collaborations.
