The historic Angel pub in Knutsford has received a £350,000 refurbishment by owner Joseph Holt brewery, increasing its accommodation from eight to 12 bedrooms. Three new ensuite rooms were created from a rarely used function room, while dining areas and other parts of the Grade II listed coaching inn were refreshed. The investment is intended to meet growing demand for traditional, characterful accommodation as tourism in Cheshire expands.

Rudy's Pizza restaurant plan for Wilmslow's Barclays bank
Plans submitted to Cheshire East Council would convert the former Barclays branch on Grove Street in Wilmslow into a Rudy's Pizza restaurant. The proposal, submitted by Paul Thompson of hospitality operator Mission Mars, includes dining and service areas, a pizza oven and counter, customer and staff facilities, storage in the retained bank vaults, and future office use on the first floor. The site could create 10 full-time and eight part-time jobs, with proposed opening hours from noon to 10 p.m. daily. The application argues that the scheme would reactivate a vacant town-centre building while preserving its architectural character and supporting local footfall.
