New Brighton Murals to Benefit from Philip Walton Talk
Wallasey adventurer Philip Walton will host a storytelling event at Riptide in New Brighton on August 22, recounting his summits of Mount Everest and other peaks, solo English Channel swim, cycling and endurance-racing achievements. Musician Marc Kenny will perform, with the evening combining personal stories, music, photographs and video to explore resilience, persistence, gratitude and legacy. Ten per cent of ticket sales will support the upkeep of New Brighton’s murals, while the event will also highlight the Wirral connections of Everest explorers George Mallory and Andrew “Sandy” Irvine. Tickets cost £20.21 and the event is expected to last two hours.

Bidston's Pure Gym Set to Reopen on Monday at 10am
PureGym's Bidston facility at Junction One Retail Park is scheduled to reopen at 10am on Monday, August 3, after being closed for about two months because serious ceiling repairs were needed.
