Police are investigating the theft of an estimated $1 million worth of copper wire from a business on Oil Springs Line in St. Clair Township. The thieves reportedly cut through a locked gate and removed spools of wire between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. Investigators believe a white 2007 International 40S heavy truck reported stolen in Sarnia was used. Lambton County OPP are asking scrap-metal dealers, recycling facilities and witnesses with relevant camera footage or information to come forward.

A 57-year-old motorcycle driver died after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle crash on St. Clair Parkway in Port Lambton on Aug. 8. Lambton County OPP, firefighters and paramedics responded, and the driver was airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London before later dying. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
