The Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance will run its school uniform donation hub at Derbion’s Community Hub from 10 to 14 August, offering discounted uniforms and shoes to families referred to or applying directly for assistance. The charity supported nearly 300 children last year, as families face average annual uniform costs of £319 for primary pupils and £347 for secondary pupils. Derbion is supporting the scheme, with a uniform donation box located outside its Sainsbury’s store.

The neonatal jaundice clinic and virtual ward, launched in November 2025, has supported 18 families with at‑home treatment lasting two to four days. Staff highlight the service’s aim of keeping families together while ensuring parents feel informed and confident, with positive feedback from users.
