Mystery surrounds death of Brit, 25, at Bangkok hostel as 2 different causes recorded
An inquest into the death of 25-year-old Liam White in a Bangkok hostel found conflicting conclusions between Thai and UK post-mortems, leaving the cause of death unascertained. The Thai report cited heart failure linked to pneumonia, while the UK post-mortem found no infection and recorded a normal heart. Assistant coroner Elizabeth Wheeler noted contradictions regarding cerebral oedema, brain haemorrhage, and the presence of morphine and codeine, ultimately issuing an open verdict. A fundraiser supported the family's repatriation costs.
