British Airways Flight Called Mayday on Approach to Heathrow
A British Airways Airbus A320 flying from Düsseldorf to London Heathrow issued a mayday call on 6 July after a data-system failure triggered two stall warnings during approach. The crew switched to alternate law, which removes some automated flight protections, and landed safely. The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch is investigating the incident, with British Airways assisting; aviation safety expert David Gleave said such a mayday call linked to a significant aircraft failure would be unusual.
