Super League: Bradford 6-34 Wigan – Warriors go joint top after six-try hammering of wasteful Bulls
Wigan Warriors defeated Bradford Bulls 34-6 at Odsal to move level with Leeds at the top of the Super League, trailing only on points difference. Jake Wardle scored twice, while Adam Keighran, Bevan French, Kian McDermott and Jake Kerr also crossed for Wigan. Bradford managed only Andy Ackers' consolation try and remain 13th, two points above bottom side Huddersfield.

XTC fans across the world pay for new tribute to rock band
A steel artwork honouring Swindon band XTC has been installed in Queen’s Park after fans worldwide surpassed a fundraising goal led by local supporters Mike Smith and Graham Carter. Former drummer Terry Chambers expressed surprise and gratitude over the band’s enduring popularity. The sculpture, featuring imagery from the 1979 album Drums and Wires, drew about 120 attendees to its unveiling, reflecting the group’s ongoing cult following.

Co-op plans to run battery-powered trains in Wiltshire and Somerset
A new co-operative, Go-op, plans to develop charging hubs for electric buses and convert former diesel or electric trains to operate solely on battery power in Somerset and Wiltshire. Operations director Alex Lawrie said theorganisation is pursuing a more ambitious strategy than earlier diesel-based proposals and will prepare a business case for Network Rail and the Office of Rail and Road. The project includes collaboration with green energy firm Ecotricity, whose founder Dale Vince argues battery-powered trains could enable cost‑effective nationwide electrification.
