Leeds United are close to signing Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford for at least £40 million plus add-ons, which would set a club-record fee and a record for an English goalkeeper. The 23-year-old made 17 appearances for Manchester City last season and kept eight clean sheets. Leeds are prioritising a new first-choice goalkeeper after Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier departed and Lucas Perri struggled in his debut season. Perri is expected to join Torino on loan with an option to buy once Trafford's transfer is completed.
