Lewis Hamilton’s father sells classic car collection for £1.7m
Anthony Hamilton sold 19 of 27 mainly British classic cars at Silverstone for about £1.7 million, while eight cars remained unsold. The top sale was a 1994 Jaguar XJ220, which fetched £506,250, followed by a David Brown Automotive Speedback GT, a Jaguar E-Type and a Mercedes-Benz 190SL. Hamilton said he was selling the cars to focus on HybridV10, his planned independent single-seater championship. The sale follows Lewis Hamilton’s disposal of much of his own car collection and highlights the father’s longstanding influence on his son’s motorsport career, including funding and managing his early rise before their professional relationship ended in 2010 and they later reconciled.

Arthur Fery’s Wimbledon semi-final brought forward
Arthur Fery’s Wimbledon semi-final has been scheduled first on Centre Court despite his shorter rest period, with the timing likely avoiding a clash with the BBC’s primetime World Cup coverage. Broadcasters such as the BBC and ESPN were factors in the scheduling, though the AELTC stated all players approved the decision. The match between Fery and Alexander Zverev will begin at 2.30pm, preceding the later Sinner-Djokovic semi-final and positioned to ensure maximum broadcast flexibility.
