Terminally ill Colin Calvert and his wife Anna say their Chelmsford flat has suffered from black mould, rising damp and subsidence since they moved in a year earlier. The conditions have worsened their health, increased electricity costs and left them seeking rehousing. Delta Housing Ltd says it is investigating the reported problems and assessing what support or action may be appropriate.

Reform UK councillor Kevin Bellamy describes his first 100 days representing Galleywood and Great Baddow on Essex County Council. He says he entered politics because he believed the area was being neglected and is working with parish councils to promote local businesses. Bellamy also supports Reform’s 100-day economic plan and wants action on pollution in Essex waterways. The report notes that the new administration scrapped net-zero and climate policies, withdrew support for the Essex Climate Action Commission, and faced criticism over guidance discouraging libraries from highlighting particular groups or themes, including Pride and Black History events.
