Bernd Huck

Bernd Huck is a journalist based in Dortmund, Germany.
Bernd Huck, born in 1963 in Dortmund, is a sports scientist. He initially worked as a journalist for print media, writing about games and sports, and then spent many years working for WDR and other media outlets before spending two years in London exploring the digital possibilities of reporting and marketing.
He then spent another two years managing the digital affairs of a black-and-yellow Bundesliga club. Afterward, as the founder and owner of a communications agency, he worked with numerous clients in the world of football, including players, clubs, agents, and sponsors.
Today (2025), he works as an author, freelance consultant, and entrepreneur.
He has played football himself since the age of seven. In his youth, he played for Borussia Dortmund and, up to the Bundesliga youth league, for VfL Bochum. Later, he played first in higher and then lower amateur leagues. He subsequently became a coach with a (former) B license. Still plays regularly today, though his game is getting progressively worse: He travels regularly with the German Media Team to international tournaments, and also plays with many good friends in an indoor soccer facility.
