Strathmore Hotels Limited, which owns and operates eight hotels including the Cairn Hotel in Harrogate, has entered administration after months of creditor pressure and sustained financial difficulties. Interpath administrators Alistair McAlinden and James Dewar have been appointed, while all hotels will continue trading and the company’s 410 employees will be retained during a review of options. The administrators cited rising operating costs, inflation, workforce shortages and changing consumer spending as challenges affecting the hospitality sector.
