Prince Harry media battle legal bill expected to cost millions
Prince Harry and other high-profile claimants face potentially millions of pounds in legal costs after losing their High Court privacy case against Associated Newspapers, publisher of the Daily Mail. The court is holding a two-day hearing to determine liability and whether the publisher should receive costs on an indemnity basis. Associated Newspapers says the claimants conducted the litigation unreasonably and should pay its costs, which had reached almost £34.5 million by 9 July. The claimants say they acted in good faith and that requiring them to cover the full amount would be unjust, particularly because their £16.2 million insurance policy may be insufficient.
