Coventry City have confirmed the signing of Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest as their sixth summer arrival, with the fee understood by CoventryLive to be £9 million despite earlier reports of approximately £17 million. The club are also nearing a deal for Fenerbahçe teenager Sidiki Cherif and remain linked with Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong and a potential loan for Mykhailo Mudryk. Fikayo Tomori has been mentioned in a possible Lazio-Milan swap involving Nuno Tavares, while Benfica are pursuing Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Manager Frank Lampard also provided injury updates on Jack Rudoni, Ephron Mason-Clark and Haji Wright before Coventry's Premier League opener against Arsenal.

Coventry City have been encouraged in their pursuit of Fikayo Tomori after AC Milan made the centre-back available for transfer. Tomori, valued at about £15 million with one year remaining on his contract, is also attracting interest from Liverpool and Newcastle United.
