Student, 18, found dead in river during Duke of Edinburgh expedition
An 18-year-old taking part in a Duke of Edinburgh expedition in Powys drowned after entering the River Wye near Glasbury. Police, fire, mountain rescue teams and the National Police Air Service conducted a multi-agency search before locating his body on Tuesday evening. The Duke of Edinburgh's Award expressed condolences and said it is working with authorities and the young man's college to understand the circumstances.
