FIFA has rejected what it calls a concerted effort to undermine president Gianni Infantino following reports about a departure payment and MBA funding provided by UEFA to a former female employee allegedly linked to him. A Sydney childcare worker, Hamish Tait, has been identified as the suspect in 329 child abuse charges involving 136 alleged victims across multiple childcare centres between 2009 and 2025. Police lifted a non‑publication order to help identify further victims, confirming contact with 121 affected families while seeking 22 more. The Australian Federal Police detailed the discovery of 2.4 million files of alleged child abuse material on Tait’s devices and released clothing images to assist in victim identification. Parents expressed shock, and Fit Kidz Learning Centres, where Tait worked, issued a statement of remorse and support for affected families.
