Highlights included a spellbinding a cappella performance of The Beatles’ “Because,” strong soloists on several numbers, and an energetic finale featuring Aerosmith’s “Dream On.” New support act Some Kind of Middle showed promise but would benefit from more experience, stronger attention to dynamics and greater balance between slow and upbeat songs.
