Four Found Guilty of Killing Birmingham Dad Set on Fire Over £1m Illegal Cigarettes
Four men were convicted over the abduction, torture and fatal burning of Birmingham father Tomasz Samel in 2019. Prosecutors said the attack was retaliation after HM Revenue and Customs seized £1 million worth of illegal cigarettes stored at Samel’s unit in Aston. Tobiasz Kozlowski and Neil Jones were found guilty of murder, while Kevin Wooden and Kye Arthur were convicted of manslaughter; all four had admitted conspiracy to kidnap and falsely imprison. Kozlowski’s wife, Sandra Kozlowska, was convicted of assisting an offender. Sentencing is scheduled for October 9.
