Former England footballer Jill Scott completed a five-day, 388-mile cycle and marathon challenge from Wembley Stadium in London to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light for Sport Relief. The physically demanding journey, which included more than 300 miles of cycling and a final 28-mile marathon, raised £470,677. Scott described the support from her hometown community and donors as overwhelming, while Comic Relief chief executive Samir Patel praised her resilience and said the funds would help people facing hardship in the UK and some of the world’s poorest countries.
