When will the heatwave end?
The Met Office forecasts that the July 2026 heatwave across much of the UK will likely persist until early next week before temperatures start to ease, though conditions will remain warm. Amber heat‑health alerts are in effect for parts of England due to expected high temperatures, with southern areas potentially reaching 34–35°C. Authorities warn of elevated health risks and advise precautions such as staying out of the sun at peak times, using sunscreen, hydrating well and keeping living spaces cool. Humidity and isolated thunderstorms may increase over the weekend before temperatures gradually decline.
