Aldi urges supermarkets to offer period products in toilets
Aldi has urged major UK supermarket chains to provide free pads and tampons in customer toilets where facilities allow, following a survey showing strong shopper support for the idea. Aldi says it introduced free products in all its UK customer and colleague toilets in March 2025 and has since distributed one million items. Menstrual equity charity Freedom4Girls supports the initiative, which is intended to help people facing unexpected periods, affordability barriers, stigma and period poverty.
