How to Safely Introduce My Dog to Another Pet at Home
Introducing a new dog to a household pet can cause anxiety, territorial behaviour or aggression, so owners should tailor the process to each animal’s temperament, age, breed traits, past experiences and training. Canine behaviour expert Adem Fehmi recommends scent swapping, gradual and controlled introductions, safe spaces, leads and stairgates, while warning that resource guarding and separation anxiety may require additional preparation or professional behavioural support. Meeting all animals’ needs, reducing stress and allowing sufficient time and patience are central to a safe transition.

Maldives safety advice issued by government after deaths
The UK government has updated its travel advice for British visitors to the Maldives, warning about strong tidal currents, high waves, unsafe swimming areas and boat propellers. Travellers are advised to consult resort staff, follow local warnings, swim only in supervised areas and avoid the sea during dangerous conditions. The update follows the reported deaths of five tourists during a scuba-diving trip in Vaavu Atoll in May, while previous fatal accidents involving boats have occurred near the South Ari Marine Protected Area and whale-shark tourism sites.

BBC weather presenters reportedly set to leave broadcaster
Veteran BBC weather presenters Tomasz Schafernaker, Louise Lear and Darren Bett are reportedly considering voluntary redundancy as the broadcaster plans major budget reductions and thousands of job cuts. The BBC is also restructuring its weather coverage by reducing local presenter roles, expanding digital output and establishing a new weather centre at the Met Office headquarters in Exeter. The changes reflect the corporation’s view that audiences increasingly want weather information through digital platforms alongside television forecasts.

Its granite cliffs, turquoise waters, white sands, rock stacks and fishing-village scenery are said to offer similar cinematic appeal. The National Trust highlights its spectacular landscape but warns that visitors can be cut off by the tide, while Tripadvisor reviews praise the beach despite summer crowds.
