Emmet Moynihan, 31, from Cork, was fined £2,224 after pleading guilty at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court to boarding a British Airways flight while intoxicated and failing to obey a pilot's lawful instructions. He verbally abused cabin crew and lunged at passengers filming him after being told to return to his seat while attempting to use the toilet on a delayed Heathrow-to-Las Vegas flight. The court also ordered him to pay an £890 surcharge and £85 in costs. The magistrate said the case could have been far more serious if the aircraft had been airborne.

Philip Jerome, 49, was sentenced to 12 months in prison after admitting four breaches of a stalking prevention order protecting actress Billie Piper. Police found images of Piper on his phone and evidence that he had tagged posts, including AI-generated images, about her on X. The court heard that Jerome had previously visited Piper’s home, contacted her family, appeared at a convention where he approached her twice, and had earlier harassment convictions. The judge cited his sexual interest, desire for a relationship, entrenched stalking behavior and repeated disregard for court orders. His defense pointed to autism, psychological support and the less threatening nature of the latest online conduct, but acknowledged that the posts were prohibited.
