Channel 4 is reviewing contributor welfare and denies the series has been cancelled, while MPs have demanded answers from both Channel 4 and Ofcom regarding their handling of the allegations. Episodes of the show were withdrawn from the broadcaster’s streaming service, and the decision on airing the next season remains pending.

A cast member from Married at First Sight UK was arrested in June on suspicion of rape following allegations from participants highlighted in a BBC Panorama investigation. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest and said the man has been bailed while inquiries continue. Channel 4 removed all episodes of the series from its streaming platform following the documentary and has not decided whether to air the already filmed upcoming season.
