Axel Rudakubana, who received a life sentence with a 52-year minimum term for murdering three children and attempting to murder eight other children and two adults in the 2024 Southport attack, has been transferred from prison to Broadmoor psychiatric hospital. The Ministry of Justice said the move does not alter his sentence. Chris Walker, representing the victims' families, said they viewed the transfer—announced shortly before the attack’s second anniversary—as another attempt by Rudakubana to manipulate the system and said they were seeking urgent clarification from authorities.
