ATTA Foundation: Helping Save New Born Babies in Uganda
The ATTA Breast Milk Community, founded by Tracy Ahumuza, is dedicated to saving newborn lives in Uganda by facilitating breast milk donations. Despite the high maternal and infant mortality rates in Uganda, ATTA connects mothers in need with donors, providing essential human milk that strengthens babies' immune systems and aids their growth. The initiative emerged from Tracy's personal tragedy and aims to create a community-based breast milk bank. Challenges include financial support and public stigma, but the organization continues to advocate for breastfeeding and milk donation, emphasizing its critical role in reducing infant mortality.
